The Rheinland region has long played a role in Germany’s fuels and chemicals production. The Shell Energy & Chemicals Park Rheinland will serve as a catalyst for the regional transformation from Industrial Center to Green Energy Hub, including “green” and future-proof industrial jobs. Located 15km from Cologne and 16km from Bonn, Wesseling is in the heart of the region that has a population of four million and is home to 30 universities and research institutions, over 20% of all companies in Germany, and 19% of all start-ups. This has created a region with healthy economic activity responsible for 21% of Germany's total GDP. 

The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland is one of Shell’s strategic production sites of the future. By increasingly providing innovative, clean, and sustainable energy and chemical products, the location is a key contributor to reach Shell´s goal of becoming a net-zero emissions energy company. As it drives change in the clean-energy revolution, Shell is looking for an investment partner and will be offering land for development of REC adjacent to Energy and Chemicals Park Rheinland at Wesseling. 

REC is a workplace ecosystem that inspires and empowers organizations on their energy transformation journey. Shell is seeking an investment partner to bring development capital and management to REC. Shell will also act as anchor tenant for the Campus.
